Help Chicago kids run toward brighter futures!

Vincent Sanchez

Vincent Sanchez

Hey friends and family,

On June 1 I’ll be lining up in Garfield Park for the 2025 Bank of America Chicago 13.1. Every mile I cover will fuel the life-changing work of Chicago Run, a local nonprofit that already reaches 8,000+ young people across 30 South- and West-Side communities through 45+ schools and partner sites. (CHICAGO RUN)

Why does that matter? Because in neighborhoods where safe play spaces and health resources are scarce, a structured running program can be the difference between sitting on the sidelines and sprinting toward possibility. Chicago Run provides:

  • Inclusive, trauma-sensitive coaching that meets kids from Pre-K to high school right where they are.
  • 100+ extra hours of joyful movement at each partner site every year. (CHICAGO RUN)
  • Proven results—80 % of participants boost their fitness, 95 % of teachers see sharper focus in class, and kids collectively log 4,000+ miles of confidence-building races. (CHICAGO RUN)

Last year, community runners like us raised $90,000 for these programs; this season I’m aiming to push that total even higher. (CHICAGO RUN)

How you can help

  1. Donate any amount that feels right—even $13.10 (a dollar for every race mile) makes a real impact.
  2. Share this page so more people can join the team.

Your tax-deductible gift buys sneakers, bus rides to safe parks, coaching stipends, and the priceless moment when a Chicago kid discovers they can go farther than they ever imagined.

Thanks for believing that every child deserves room to run—and for helping me turn race day into a runway for brighter futures. See you at the finish line!

With gratitude,

Vince Sanchez
